Savannah Phillips (Savannah Anne Kathleen; born 29 December 2010), is the eldest daughter of Peter Phillips and his wife Autumn Phillips. Savannah is the first grandchild of Anne, Princess Royal and the first great-grandchild of Elizabeth II. She is currently 15th in line of succession to the British throne.

Early life Edit

Savannah was born on 29 December 2010 at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. She is the Queen's oldest great-grandchild and Princess Anne's oldest grandchild. A statement at the time of her birth from Buckingham Palace read:

The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal, Captain Mark Phillips and Autumn's family have been informed and are delighted with the news.

Her name was not immediately announced, and was first revealed publicly during a church service in Sandringham when the reverend reportedly shared a prayer for "Peter and Autumn Phillips and their daughter Savannah."

Savannah's only sister Isla was born just a few years later on March 29, 2012.

On Saturday, 23 April 2011, the baptism of Savannah took place at Holy Cross Church in Avening, Gloucestershire, near the Princess Royal's home, Gatcombe Park.

Line of succession Edit

At the time of her birth, Savannah was 12th in line to the throne, but after the births of her second cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, Savannah dropped to 15th in line.

While she holds a position in the order of succession, Savannah does not have a royal title. The BBC reports that children of the daughter of a monarch are not "entitled to the rank" of his or her royal highness. When Savannah's father, Peter Phillips, was born, his parents, Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, declined the Queen's offer to give him a title, marking "the first child to be born to a princess without a title here for at least 500 years," reported the Washington Post.

"Princess Anne and her husband are understood to have told the queen that they felt a title would be a hindrance in the child's future career."

Since neither of her parents have a royal rank, Savannah doesn't have one either.

Public life Edit

While Isla and Savannah are seen at royal events on occasion, they reportedly live a fairly normal life in London.

In 2018, Savannah served as a bridesmaid in Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's wedding.
